We asked all members of staff, both partners and employees to complete, anonymously, a diversity survey. This was a non-mandatory requirement meaning the results may not be a complete representation of the firm’s profile. However, we are pleased to report that 80% of the 75 people who are either employed or are partners chose to complete the survey.
The results showed that the majority of staff are either training towards or qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
Of those who completed the survey, the age range of our staff is predominantly between 35-44, representing 35% with 60% of those being female.
The respondents come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds; 58% went to University, of which 26%being the first generation of their family to do so. Regarding the schools attended, 60% attended a state run non selective school.
Maternity/Paternity leave was taken by 12% of the respondents in the last 5 years.
The ethnicity, faith, disability, carer responsibility, and marital status statistics of the partners and staff of the firm are broadly in line with the demographic profile of Devon, as a whole, which represents our position as a two-office accountancy firm located in the South West.
As a firm we feel well placed to be able to understand the wider-ranging needs of our client portfolio, which includes a multitude of locational, inclusivity, and diversity considerations.
